The International WAGR Syndrome Association is pleased to announce that John Morris has been elected to serve as Chair of the organization's Board of Directors. John previously served as Board Secretary and will continue to also serve on the Research and Medical Advocacy team. John brings a wealth of experience to this important leadership role.
John replaces the current IWSA Chair, Kelly Trout, who remains on the Board and will now serve as Board Secretary, and continue as Director of the IWSA Research and Medical Advocacy team.
"I am so excited to support our new Board Chair John Morris," explains Kelly. "As Director of the MossRehab Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program and Clinical Manager of two MossReHab outpatient facilities (Philadelphia, PA), John brings all the professional skills needed to lead this organization towards a bright and productive future. And as the father of a child with WAGR spectrum, John understands the unique challenges faced by IWSA families around the world and is passionate about fulfilling the mission of the IWSA."
"Once I learned about WAGR spectrum and how it would potentially affect my daughter Miranda, it has been my mission to support her and others with WAGR to the best of my abilities," says John. "As Board Chair, I plan to continue my efforts in providing support to our WAGR families with the hope that I can make a difference in the lives of those affected WAGR spectrum."
