Congratulations to Linda Van de Sande for being nominated for the Edelweiss Awards 2020. Linda was nominated in the Remarkable Patient/Parent Advocacy category in Radiorg, Rare Disease Organisation Belgium. Each year on Rare Disease Day, Radiorg recognizes a patient organization, a medical professional, and a patient/patient advocate for outstanding work. Chantal Dupree (mom to Maelynn and leader of WAGR syndroom Nederland) nominated Linda for her dedication and work on behalf of the IWSA. As the IWSA’s first international Board Member and European representative, Linda is coordinating translations of IWSA one-page information sheets and is raising awareness of WAGR syndrome within Belgium and throughout Europe.
