You won't want to miss the Family Meeting at WAGR Weekend 2022. The agenda is set and the IWSA is excited to share it!
In addition to learning about IWSA activities and accomplishments, there will be a focus on research. Care Management Guidelines for WAGR Syndrome were published late last year and the research team responsible for this exciting publication will be presenting at WAGR Weekend in Marietta, Georgia. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) research team led by Dr Jennifer Kalish will discuss these guidelines and how they will help to improve healthcare for indiviuals with WAGR syndrome. Recommendations for screening, including for Wilms tumor, will also be covered. Dr Kalish and the CHOP team will share information about the next steps for research and how IWSA families can participate. During the meeting, there will be opportunities for attendees to ask questions and engage in discussion with the research team. The team will also be available during the weekend to meet with families attending the event in person.
You'll also hear from IWSA Board Member and European Representative Linda van de Sande about how to create and apply the new Care Model for Health Management and Wellness Promotion your child. Linda will be sharing the personalized Model she created for her own son.
